The CLIB Graduate Cluster “Industrial Biotechnology” now offers 7 PhD scholarships at the Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf, Germany, starting in October 2009. The new cluster is a joined initiative of the three CLIB2021 member universities Bielefeld, Düsseldorf and Dortmund and several partnering companies within CLIB2021. The program is substantially funded by the Ministry of Innovation, Science, Research and Technology of the German federal state North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) and is based on four technology platforms according to the excellent experience of the three universities. The University of Düsseldorf offers projects in the fields of Biocatalysis and Expression.

The CLIB Graduate Cluster stands for innovative high-level PhD education and research programs in the wide field of industrial biotechnology. Within a very stimulating and tight network of three universities and industrial practice the science-to-industry relationship can include a noteworthy internship at a partnering company.

Highly motivated and excellent young scientists holding a MA, MSc, or Diploma degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or related can now apply for one of seven scholarships chosen out of the research projects described in detail on our website: http://www.gc.bci.tu-dortmund.de/en/vacancies/24. The 7 PhD Scholarships starting in October 2009 are based on a three-year stipend of 1500,- Euro/month and contributions towards travel and research expenses.
