We are a member of the Helmholtz German Research Community, a leading association Europe-wide, focusing on "Environmental Health".

The aim of our research is to proactively detect health risks for both humans and the environment, decoding the mechanisms of pathogenesis and developing concepts for prevention and therapy of diseases.

PhD-Position - in Modeling Pathophenotypes m/f (D12/2009)

Job Description
- Analysis and network integration from public sources
- Development of a generic model for the compilation of qualitative sub-networks as a graduate thesis
- Aim is to facilitate knowledge and data integration and to incorporate up-to-date information into a system
- Components for the dynamic interaction of the biologist with the Knowledge-Management System (GeKnowMe) should be developed and benchmarked
- Interference of siRNAs with the model should be used for the perturbance of the model

Your Qualifications
- Degree in Biology, Bioinformatics or related fields
- Programming skills is a prerequisite
- Sound experience of relational database systems
- Good communication skills
- Highly motivated and team-oriented
