PhD Student m/f ? Genetics of Neural Differentiation

Job Description
The project aims to use novel genetic tools to promote differentiation of therapeutically relevant cell types in the CNS from iPS (induced pluripotent) and embryonic stem (ES) cells, as well as unravel potential mechanisms of de- and transdifferentiation in somatic cells.

- Development of gene-targeting technology to rapidly create genetic modifications in ES cells
- Creation and genetic modification of iPS cell lines using cutting edge tools
- Production and analysis of transgenic mouse lines relevant to human neurological disease
- Cooperation with project engineer to use high-throughput technology in in vitro cell differentiation
- Diverse techniques in development biology and neuroscience (e.g. immunohistochemistry, quantitative gene expression analyses, drug responses)

Your Qualifications
- Master/Diploma in Biology, Biochemistry or related disciplines
- Strong scientific background in molecular genetics, cell biology, or related field
- Highly motivated and team-oriented
