We are a member of the Helmholtz German Research Community, a leading association Europe-wide, focusing on "Environmental Health".

The aim of our research is to proactively detect health risks for both humans and the environment, decoding the mechanisms of pathogenesis and developing concepts for prevention and therapy of diseases.

The Institute of Biochemical Plant Pathology is offering

2 PhD Positions - Plant Molecular Biology (D 09/2009)

Job Description
- Characterization of signaling pathways in plant-pathogen interactions
- Special emphasis on identification of signals in Arabidopsis
-Pseudomonas interactions and biofilms
- Analysis of systemic acquired resistance of Arabidopsis thaliana

Your Qualifications
- Diploma/master degree in biology, biochemistry or a closely related field
- Background in plant molecular biology
- Interest to learn state-of-the-art techniques in transcriptomics and proteomics
- Enjoy working in a team as well as independently
