Research Center Borstel, Leibniz-Center for Medicine and Biosciences announces a position as PhD Student (f/m) to be filled as soon as possible. A major focus of our group is the understanding of pathomechanisms leading to tissue destruction in autoimmune-driven dermatoses. Based on in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo models, we develop novel therapeutical strate-gies in the treatment of the diseases. The current project will address the patho-physiological role of mast cells in autoimmune-dermatoses and their potential use as therapeutical target structures. Individuals applying for this position should hold a diploma or M.Sc. in biology or life sciences and have a strong background in cell biology, molecular biology, and/or immunology. Experience in animal experiments as well as in isolation, culture, and functional characterization of primary cells would be particularly desirable. We offer the possibility to realize a project of high medical and scientific relevance under ex-cellent working conditions. The successful candidate will participate the graduate program of the "Borstel Biomedical Research School". The employment contract will be limited to 3 years.
