We are a member of the Helmholtz German Research Community, a leading association Europe-wide, focusing on "Environmental Health".

The aim of our research is to proactively detect health risks for both humans and the environment, decoding the mechanisms of pathogenesis and developing concepts for prevention and therapy of diseases.

The Niessing lab at the Institute of Structural Biology is seeking to fill a PhD position on structure-to-functional analysis of neuronal RNA-binding proteins (more information is available at www.helmholtz-muenchen.de/en/stb/research-group-niessing/).
The lab is located at the Gene Center of the Munich University (www.lmb.uni-muenchen.de).

Job Description
- X-ray crystallography
- Biophysical interaction studies
- Biochemistry
- Cloning / molecular biology

Your Qualifications
- Master/diploma degree in biochemistry, biology (or chemistry)
- Experience in biochemistry and molecular biology
- Strong interest in structure-to-function characterization
-Practical experience in structure determination is not required
- Highly motivated and team oriented
- Drivers license is of advantage
