We are currently seeking a highly motivated PhD student with a background in medicine, veterinary medicine, biology, chemistry or similar to work on a project aiming to elucidate novel targets for antiangiogenic therapy. We have a portfolio of different candidate genes which should be evaluated regarding their potential to influence on vascular proliferation and angiogenesis in vitro and in vivo using wildtype and genetically modified mice as well as their expressional control and angiogenetic mechanism of function. These targets will be evaluated in appropriate disease models. The successful candidate will apply molecular and cell biology as well as protein chemistry, immunohistochemistry and viral gene transfer in vitro and in vivo. The Department is well equipped with all necessary infrastructure including in house animal facility. Candidates will have the possibility to enrol in the TUM graduate school.
