The Natural and Science Institute at the University of Tübingen invites applications for a

PhD position in Neuroscience/Electrophysiology
(salary scale TVL 13/2)

in the BMBF-funded ‘Neurochip’ research group.

Our research explores the potential of large-scale recording of neuronal activity in neural
tissue. Specifically, we make use of a unique silicon-based sensor array comprising 16384 sensor sites. Using such array we are able to simultaneously identify electrical activity in hundreds of neurons. The main focus of the research project will be the identification of aberrant electrophysiological signatures in degenerative diseases of the central nervous system (such as the retina).

Basic knowledge of electrophysiology is highly desirable but not mandatory for application by a biologist or any other candidate holding a diploma or Master of Science. The position is available for immediate start.

We offer an excellent laboratory environment in an interdisciplinary team. Our institution is
embedded in the attractive technological environment of Reutlingen and the neuroscientific
community of Tübingen.

To apply, please send your CV and a motivation letter via e-mail to:
